Collection: Expressive Portraiture

This series explores nature, close up.

I had become impatient with the drying time required for oil paintings and wanted to create quick, colorful pieces which explored the beauty that nature created in terms of color, light, reflections and life. In this series I use black pen to create silhouettes of animal or plant life to create contrast between the landscape and the life within in. 

I use metallic paint to bring out reflections in water, both flowing and dispersed and layer thinned colors on top of white to bring out particularly light parts of each piece. Each piece was created with love and with a passion for natural beauty in the world.
