The Winter Orchid

During a brief spat living in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, I encountered a beautiful and rare wallflower - the Winter Orchid. Counter to its name, this flower is no wallflower. Each of its numerous dainty flowers go through a color cycle from bloom to death. When they first appear, flowers are yellow and slowly turn through vivid oranges and reds to bright pinks and stunning violets and purple. Due to this enlightened quality, each flower on a stem of a Winter Orchid will be different in color depending on its age. Creating a spectacular array of colors. For this reason, the last month has been dedicated to painting various versions of the Winter Orchid. Coming soon!
